Hot take: Winter is the most honest season for new beginnings.
Every year, New Year’s Day shows up and people scramble to say fresh starts belong somewhere else. Somewhere brighter, warmer, more visible.
But truthfully, I think Winter teaches us that beginnings aren’t actually all that shiny. They’re quiet. Bare. And sometimes, a little lonely.
Remember the saying, “Summer bodies are built in the Winter”? Yeah…
Virtually everything in this life begins in the dark.
Even though we so badly desire to begin our journeys right when things begin picking up motion.
That is generally not the case.
Shit, even writing these blogs, I’d love for hundreds of people to already be waiting to tune in, but that’s just not the season STRRGIRL is in — yet.
However, I am in the perfect season to try new things, get good footing. Because thankfully, there aren't hundreds of people waiting to tune in right now.
I can build, play, explore, in peace.
Winter also grants us the blessing of true yearning.
Each season holds a particular gift that no other season can replicate quite the same. Winter nurtures a particular type of hope only a seedling has before the grand bloom. Before the story has been written yet.
A clean slate is upon us.
Full of opportunity.
While this snowy little number may not be as hot and heavy as Summer.
Nor as extrinsically motivating as beloved Spring.
Could you imagine how unnatural it would be to not have a moment of silence to rest, to dream?
To experiment in the stillness of the long nights?
Honestly, it’s such a gift to have a quiet corner to build your empire for the year to come.
And while I fully agree with the admiration of the season when the flowers finally begin to decorate the ground. Much like the moment when our efforts, our hard work finally becomes visible to the rest of the world. I encourage you to be as present as you can in this very special season.
Stoke the flames within.
Sensually revel in the darkness, in the dirt that dreams are made of.
Happy New Year, Starrs
